MJR Power & Automation and ELSYS completed an ABS-approved life extension and repowering of a specialist research vessel supporting the world's only ocean-depth rated manned submersible. The turnkey project upgraded switchboards, DC propulsion drives, generator controls, power management, and automation systems, with redelivery in March 2026.
MJR Power & Automation delivered a turnkey electrical package for Parkol’s new-build trawler Green Isle, designing and manufacturing main and auxiliary switchboards and integrating generator protection and vessel automation. The team completed onboard installation, cabling, testing and certification, ensuring safe, compliant and reliable power management at sea.
MJR Power & Automation supported Subsea 7 aboard Seven Borealis with two major electrical work packages: preventative maintenance of ABB ACS800 inverter drives for crane and tensioner systems, and a vessel-wide 5-year electrical healthcare survey. MJR Power & Automation delivered a turnkey propulsion and control system upgrade for OSV Relume, replacing obsolete drives and PLCs with modern Siemens technology. The retrofit improved reliability, diagnostics, and maintainability while integrating seamlessly with existing thruster, DP, and vessel control systems, ensuring Class compliance and futureproofed performance.
MJR Power & Automation delivered a turnkey electrical upgrade on the Eni Douglas Oil Platform, replacing VFD Switchboard B and installing four external sine filters. Completed during a planned shutdown, the project improved reliability, safety, and long-term resilience through precise offshore coordination and compliant execution.
MJR Power & Automation modernised the world’s last seagoing paddle steamer, PS Waverley, with a complete electrical upgrade. The project included a new main switchboard, upgraded power management system, emergency switchboard, boiler room rewire, and harbour generator integration, all enhancing efficiency and safety while preserving the vessel’s historic character.
