MJR Power & Automation have been contracted by our client to oversee the design, construction, delivery into service and initial project mobilization of two offshore construction vessels.
Our role has included assisting the ship designers in the development of the specification for the ‘basic’ ship and detailed development of specification and design of the vessel to equipment interface in respect of electrical power, data, communications, surveillance and IT.
Another important part of our workscope was to provide assistance with electrical load and DP performance analysis to ensure that the vessel’s electrical power generation, distribution and propulsion systems were correctly specified to ensure adequate ‘in field’ performance.
We also advised on the specification, design and integration of all of the vessel’s offshore construction equipment including…
- Flexible pipelay and carousel systems
- Very high power subsea trenching vehicles (>2.5MW)
- Workclass and OBS ROVs.
- Deck equipment and machinery.
The same client has retained our consultancy services now for over 10 years and we continue to provide them with regular support for their project based and asset construction activities and offshore project mobilisation.
